Epoxy resin cable joint EU-EP is a two-component epoxy casting resin for low voltage joints. It cures hard (Shore A 60) and is the grade to specify where the joint has to hold a shape, carry load or resist water pressure without deforming.

Part A is a transparent liquid, part B is black; mixed 3:1 the resin turns black and gels in about ten minutes, which is enough for one mould but not for a batch of joints.

Key features

  • Hard cure — Shore A 60, the stiffest resin in the range
  • 3:1 mix — by volume, pre-measured bags
  • 10 min pot life — one mould per mix
  • Demould in 2 hours — backfill the same day
  • Black after curing — UV stable, hides the joint
  • Bag sizes 80–1250 g — matched to the joint mould

EU-EP160 160 g
EU-EP350 350 g
EU-EP600 600 g
EU-EP1250 1250 g

Bag size follows the mould volume; order the bag that matches the joint size.

Installation

  1. Open both components and mix 3:1 by volume for at least 60 seconds.
  2. Pour in one continuous stream into the sealed mould.
  3. Tap the mould to release trapped air before the gel point.
  4. Demould after 120 minutes at 23 °C; full cure 48 hours.

Typical applications

  • LV straight and branch joints
  • Joints under mechanical load
  • Submersible and buried joints
  • Moulded joints that must hold shape

Compliance and working data

  • Shore A 60 after full cure
  • Pot life 10 min at 23 °C
  • Demould 120 min / full cure 48 h

Ordering

  • Seven bag sizes from 80 g to 1250 g.
  • Tell us the joint size and we will confirm the bag.

Common questions

Epoxy or polyurethane?

Epoxy cures harder (Shore A 60) and holds shape; polyurethane stays more flexible. Choose epoxy for load and water pressure.

How long do I have after mixing?

About 10 minutes at 23 °C. Mix only what one mould needs.

Can it be used in cold weather?

Curing slows below 15 °C; keep the resin and the mould warm before pouring.

Is it black?

Yes, after mixing. Component A is clear and B is black.
